Glory

"Glory" tells the true story of the first all-black military unit in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Led by Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, a young and idealistic officer, the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment faces prejudice and discrimination from both their own Union army and the Confederates. Despite these challenges, the regiment shows remarkable courage and determination, ultimately earning their place in history as heroes of the Civil War. With an outstanding cast, including Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, Cary Elwes, and Morgan Freeman, this powerful film won two Academy Awards for Best Cinematography and Best Sound.
