In the town of Troy, New York, two women both named Helen lead vastly different lives. One is a married woman in her 60s who dotes on a lifelike baby doll, while the other is a successful artist in her 30s who is four months pregnant. When a mysterious object falls from the sky and explodes over the town, strange and inexplicable events begin to occur, upending their lives and causing them to question reality itself.
